CONDITIONS OF THE COMPETITION

 

The contest is open to all young conductors from the Republic of Belarus and other countries born between November 28th, 1998 and November 28th, 1989 include.

The deadline for submission of the application form and related documents is October 23rd, 2016.

For participation, it is necessary to send in Organizing Committee of the competition at e-mail choirbgam@gmail.com the following documents:

  1. Application form filled in;
  2. A  short  biography  containing information  about  artistic  work  done  to  date, in Belarusian, Russian or English;
  3. A recent colour photo in JPEG format (not less than 1 MB);
  4. The unedited video recording of work with a choir (3-7 minutes);
  5. A letter of recommendation from teachers or conductors (for students only).

 

Organizing Committee of competition provide pre-selection of the participants after the evaluation of applications.

The list of the participants will be published by October 28th, 2016 on websites www.bgam.edu.by and www.choirbgam.by; invitations will be sent by e-mail to competitors until October 28th, 2016.

 

Payment of all expenses connected with staying at the competition (round trip, hotel accommodation, daily allowances) lies on participants themselves or their directing organizations.

Sizing up takes place at jury final session. Decisions of the Jury are final and beyond appeal.

 

The winners will be awarded the following prizes:

  • First Place – 700 USD and the title of laureate;
  • Second Place – 500 USD and the title of laureate;
  • Third Place– 300 USD and the title of laureate.

 

The competition consists of three rounds in which the participants show their work with a choir; all rounds are open to public.

No more than half of participants of the first round will be admitted in the second round of the competition. At the end of each competition round the list with the participants admitted in the next round will be announced.

The order of the performance and title of the composition is chosen by drawing lots before the first and the second round. All competitive auditions will be held with the Student Choir of BSAM.

 

THE FIRST ROUND will take place in two parts, no more than 10 minutes are provided to conduct in each part of the round. Compositions are chosen from the groups A, B, C or D by drawing lots.

Each candidate selected for the second round, will conduct maximum 25 minutes work time with the choir. Compositions are chosen from the groups A, B or C by drawing lots.

The THIRD ROUND

The participants will conduct for maximum 10 minutes work time with the Student Choir, two works by choice from the competitive program and then present their concert performance.
